DSK Hyosung which introduced early this year the luxury cruiser Aquila 250 has registered a positive growth in the 220 cc segment. A total of 375 units were sold which comprised of new GT 250 R and Aquila 250 during the period of July-August, 2014.
The new Aquila 250 was the first-of-its kind luxury cruiser in the 250cc segment. Within a month of its launch in February 2014, the Aquila 250 received close to 275 bookings.
Then new improved GT 250 R from the DSK Hyosung stable has modern styling, sporty graphics and smart design elements. It has stylish new headlamps.
Shirish Kulkarni, Chairman DSK Hyosung said the growth in terms of sales has been phenomenal for the previous quarter. “We have witnessed around 80-90pc year-on-year growth this year when compared to the same period last year. The 250cc segment has always been the fastest selling segment for DSK Hyosung, this year it has been the game changer with new launches coupled with evolving customer buying patterns and organic growth in metros as well as tier II & II cities, and overall positive sentiment reflected within the economy,” he said.
He said in the next couple of months, the company is aiming to achieve a sales target of 300 bikes per month.
